We got started in this hobby about 6 years ago now while we were still in Virginia. My families first fish was a Fresh Water Betta Male named Oliver. He was a beautiful red color, flamboyant with his long tail and fins. We soon had 2 fresh water tanks. So one day we took a trip to the fish store and seen Nemo. The popular clownfish. The local fish store new me well by this point and knew I had a fresh water tank. I remember him saying to me. "So are you ready for the big leagues?" and I responded. "So, I can just put him in the tank with my Betta right?" Yep I had no idea about salt water vs fresh and all the complexities and "fun" that came along with the hobby. So we purchased a a 55 gallon tank. After filling it with water and going through the cycle process we went to the store to get our first fish. At this point we no longer wanted a clown fish we wanted this beautiful Niger Trigger Fish. Unfortunately, the sales person at the store informed us that our now fully cycled tank was "TOO SMALL" for that fish. So of course our next move was to sell our new 55 gallon on craigslist and buy a 75 gallon tank. In this picture to the left you see how the addiction (I mean healthy hobby) started. From left to right you see our 29 gallon Reef tank. Our 75 gallon Fish only or (FOWLR=Fish only with Live Rock). And last but not least our beach getaway for our fresh water Betta Oliver.
We soon moved from this house and move to Atlanta. The plot only thickens. At first we said no more tanks in the new house. But we decided to go to the local fish store (well it wasn't really local but it was the first one we saw lol). We went in and say a 93 gallon cube tank and loved how different it looked. So of course we bought it. 6 months after buying that tank we then had 4 fish tanks in our house. A nano tank, frag tank, the 93 gallon cube, and a pipefish tank. Oh the quarantine tank makes 5 I guess.
